Someone dear to me said that it was mean to call Randy "Randy bag o' Doughnuts" and that having a contest involving said nickname was also mean. That person also said I should apologize. I would but anybody that knows me also knows any apology would not be sincere. So I agreed to simply not using "Randy Bag o' Doughnuts" In my blog anymore. So I won't. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Still 3 PBR's up for grabs.

This weekend
Saturday- Usual route around Wind Lake. Smaller group than usual but it was nice because we kept it smooth and everyone stayed in. Next week with no races on Sunday, Saturday will be a different story I'm sure. Saturday night was fun. Russell, Anne, Kyle, Rick, Liz, Mikey G, Trina and I went to Japanica for sushi, Oh daddy. That raw fish is some tasty stuff I tell you what. Russell has been there so many times they have a pair of chopsticks in a plastic case with his name on it, seriously.
Sunday- Another day at the Parkside races. 97 racers in the 4/5 field. Too many people, too many squirrelly people. I bailed, rode some laps alone and some with Balls (who also bailed), then quit. Am I a pansy for bailing? Maybe, but I'm good with it.
I learned that a new nickname was coined this past week.
It is " Randy Bag o'Doughnuts"
Anybody who can use this nickname in a sentence (gramatically correct or not) that makes me laugh out loud will win one of the 6 PBR's Russell will owe me next week. This gives you 6 chances at a prize. Good luck.

Sunday at the races
Another March Sunday spent at UW-Parkside for the races. Once again I raced the 4/5 race. A few years ago I raced 3's, all the boys said it was smoother, more tame and safer. In 2 weeks of racing there have been 4 crashes in the 3's races and 1 crash in the 4/5's. I'll ride with the humps if it keeps me upright. This week I felt good and I was having a decent race when the aforementioned 1 crash in the 4/5's occurred. That crash happened 10 feet in front of me, I got on the binders and stopped less than a foot from some guy that had just slid 15 feet on the pavement, OUCH!!!. I was out of the race in less than 5 seconds time. I found out later that I probably could have gotten a free lap had I said something to the officials. Oh well, it's only training. I'll try again next week.

Saturday ride
The Saturday morning ride was the usual route around wind lake. Uneventful for the most part. One person, Glenn, I believe was snatched by aliens, one minute he was with us next minute he was gone without a trace. This person is not one to get dropped so it had to be aliens. No one puked, although I thought I was going to at one point. Not because the ride was moving too fast but because I had 3 shots of cheap "whiskey" the night before. I think this cheap ass- sold in a plastic bottle -aged 3 years in the ass of a comatose pygmy- gut rot "whiskey", ate a hole in my stomach. I also think I am closer to blindness now for drinking it. The fact that very rarely drink my have also played a part, but I am still blaming the hooch. Now that I think about it all the corned beef and cabbage that I had between shots may have saved my sight. Corned beef, is there anything it can't do?
Now I must go prepare to get my ass handed to me at the Parkside races tommorow.

The week in review
Monday-Friday: Went to work. Work sucks. Gonna spend some time this weekend adding some self-glorification (not to be confused with self-gratification) to my resume.

Sunday at the races
Sunday was the first of three weeks of training races at UW-Parkside in Kenoshit. I loaded up my truck, picked up Liz and Balls and a racin we went. Rick had never done a road type race before so I explained to him kind of what to expect, you never really know till your in there. We did the 4/5 race and it started fast, really fast. I got dropped in lap 4. I wasn't alone, Zeke got spit out the back also. One of the best features of the training races is that if you get dropped you can sit-up, soft pedal, recover and wait for the peloton to come around again then jump right back in. At that point you won't win but you get to work on pack riding skillz, very important. Anyway, back to the race. Rick did quite well, he took a flyer up the left side from the midde of the field. Him and some other guy held on to this break long enough to go by the spectators. If your not going to win, dazzling your fans is the next best thing. As for my training I did what I wanted to do. I hit the rev-limiter a few times and did not puke. It was a good day.
Later on that night I watched the Soprano's, I love that gangster shit. I have watched that show since the first season. The most used expression for me about that show is "WOW never saw that comin'". Last night I used it again.

Friday and Saturday
So far I am still alive. My wed. illness subsided quickly. Props to Bubba for steppin up to the plate to make sure ribs were BBQ'ed and the 40's spilled in case of my untimely demise. We Clydes are a tight (and large) bunch.
Friday-Went to work.Work sucks, but after work there was a major improvement. Russell, Rick, Liz and I went to a place called Famous Dave's. I had never even heard of this Famous Dave character until Russell called me and suggested we go there. As a Clydesdale I must be slipping, how did this BBQ joint open up under my radar? Could it be because I live with a vegetarian and my Clydesdale senses (like spidy senses except it's for BBQ instead of crime) are weakening? Anyway, that place knows how to feed a brother, filled me up to just about right.
Saturday-Showed for the Sat. morning ride from Wheel and Sprocket in Hales Corners. A 36 mile loop out around Wind Lake and back. It's a nice loop with some hills, some flats and always windy. I would guess about 15 people showed. The ride broke into two groups as sometimes happens in the early season. I was right where I belong in the second group, I'm good with that. We were moving along at decent pace when Bubba decided to let the air out of his rear tire. How he did that without losing any fingers is beyond me. Anyway, it was a good ride I accomplished what I wanted training wise. I bounced the HR off the rev limiter a few times, but I kept my breakfast where I put it so it's all good. Tommorrow it's off to Kenoshit for the Parkside races then out to my friend's house in Saukville for the Soprano's.

So far this week
Monday- Went to work. Work sucks. Work sucks even more at hour 10 for the day.
Tuesday- Went to work. Work sucks. Went to the Y for Anne's spin class, power intervals for an hour and a half, she loves me.
Wednesday- Woke up sick as hell. Went to work, almost puked, came home. I slept for while now I just have a pounding headache and dizziness that just comes and goes at random. Pretty sure I'll live but if i don't, someone make sure they serve BBQ ribs and spill a 40 at my funeral.

I can hear clearly now the wax is gone.
Tuesday- Woke up unable to hear in my right ear. I debated whether I should call a doctor or hook up my blow-gun to my air compressor and see if I could dislodge anything. Unsure about what was wrong I decided to call the doctor's office. My doctor is a serious type person. When he peered into my ear with that little lighted magnifying gizmo he said "your ear is completely occluded with wax", I said "it's not wax, it's caulk, I lost a bet". He just had a puzzled look on his face. I thought my comment was funny and I guess that's all that really matters. He flushed my ears out with some secret doctor stuff and sent me on my way. Normally on Tuesday nights I go to the Y after work but my trip to the doc meant I needed to stay later at my daily prison so I did a little basement workout on the bike and with the weights instead.
Wednesday-No trip to the doctor today, and nobody put any burnt stuff on my face in church or anywhere else.
